Tana brings intelligence in waste management to IFAT

Robust machines with smart mechanical solutions are just one part of waste management. Intelligent machines that can provide information on machine performance, costs and interoperation between machines help streamline processes and increase profitability on site.

Tana will be showcasing the 6D Smart Drum Screen and a 440DT Shredder at the IFAT Munich 2016 fair. Both machines include the TANA Smart Site as default and the 6D Smart Drum Screen is the world’s first intelligent drum screen for waste management.

TANA 6D Smart Drum Screen is equipped with scales on both conveyor belts to measure coarse grain and fine grain output tonnages, giving a real time view of the drum’s operation. When the 6D is combined with other Tana products, the business owner also has access to other critical information via Smart Site which helps improve the efficiency of their process.

Connecting the dots with Smart Site

TANA Smart Site connects Tana’s machines together to provide an overview of the whole process as well as critical information on a specific machine. A drum screen, shredder and wheel loader can be linked to the TANA Smart Site to enhance machinery integration and to have a total control of all operations on site.

Tana machines use Smart Site to record, display and report information about fuel consumption, machine up-time, produced tonnages per waste stream and eventually a profitability calculation of the process. This helps businesses analyse and streamline the entire work process and its profitability.

Smart Site enables control over the whole process

“Smart Site reports include exactly the right information. They are easy to read and provide a good summary of the operation”, says Oliver Dymott from Robert Hopkins Environmental Services.

“TANA Smart Site is definitely useful. Morning report helps with driving production up on daily basis”, says Robert Chirnside from Chadwicks Recycling.

Remote monitoring saves costs and increases machine uptime

All Smart Site enabled machines can be monitored locally or remotely over the internet. This helps service providers troubleshoot problems the operator has with the machines and give technical support without visiting the site. Remote diagnosing saves time and money when service can be started without first driving to and from the site. Smart Site linked machines can also be upgraded remotely by qualified service personnel.

The information presented by TANA Smart Site can be used to pre-emptively schedule maintenance to minimize downtime and in the rare case of a malfunction, save service costs by first diagnosing the problem remotely.
